 The family of CANgine products started in 2003 with CANgine No.1, a generic RS232 to CAN converter. This device is often used in industrial automation environemt. Some customers also use it to convert J1939 frames to serial data stream. In the last years devices were added to the family upon customer requests. The second device type suppors the Fleet Management Standard, a standard defined by the main European truck manufacturer in late 2002. In 2006 a CANopen device was added upon request of customers who had to connect standard RS232 serial devices to CANopen networks.

 The product range is extended by a Bluetooth option which allows connection by Bluetooth equipped devices instead of using the standard RS232 interface.
