COP (CANopen)
CANgine COP is a smart CAN to RS232 converter for use in CAN or CANopen environments. With CANgine COP you can connect any peripheral device with RS232 interface to any controlling device via a CAN or CANopen network. The controlling device may either be a CAN or CANopen device which is capable of driving the serial peripheral unit or another serial device. With two serial devices the serial data stream can be tunneled and is transparent to the CAN devices connected to the network.

CANgine COP is widely configurable and works either as a CAN basic layer device  (CAN mode) or as a CANopen based device (COP mode). CAN identifiers, CANopen node identifier, CAN baud rate, UART baud rate and other parameters are configurable. Supported CANopen features:

  • 1 Server SDO expedited and non-expedited
  • 1 TPDO, static mapping
  • 1 RPDO, static mapping
  • Heartbeat producer
  • NMT Slave

An autostart feature is selectable in the COP mode to avoid the need for a CANopen master to start the device in CANopen mode.
